Villa Valentina Review | Villa Valentina Kranevo Varna Bulgaria | Black Sea Coast

Villa Valentina

Villa Valentina is set in the old town of Kranevo, on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria, about 30km (or about half hour's drive) from the city of Varna. There are around 16 apartments. set in a spacious grassed area with a swimming pool, children's play equipment and shaded areas. The complex is clean, tidy, well maintained and tended to by helpful staff although Bulgarian and Russian are the main languages that the staff are familiar with.

We chose Villa Valentina due to it's close location to 'Baltata' the natural area and naturist beach which lies just north of the edge of Kranevo. The beach is a short distance (about 5 minutes walk away) however when we arrived, the dirt track to the beach was waterlogged so it meant walking through Kranevo and along the town beach to get there which is about 1km (or a 15 minute walk).

Facilities on site include pool and poolside showers, shared barbecue area, seating and sunloungers, free Wifi, and children's play equipment. The complex is fully gated and secure with internal car parking. They also offer currency exchange. We did not notice any laundry facilities, although we did not look or ask for them.

Villa Valentina itself is not naturist, which is a shame, as it would make an ideal naturist facility. I did notice while I was there that the clientele were particularly overdressed by European standards. Men typically wore short trousers in pool and long sleeves out, and the women wore elaborate bathing wear in the pool or were fully dressed out.

On our upper floor apartment we had the sun in the morning and with some careful placing of towels we could sit and dine on the terrace without being seen.

Prices (June 2018) were 50 to 60 Euros per night. This included all onsite facilities including a daily maid service. Early booking discounts were also available.

Overall, Villa Valentina represented good value. The only negative point was the need to wear clothes in the complex, although I did swim daily wearing only thong type swimwear without issue. If we were to return to Kranevo, I would possible seek somewhere with higher levels of privacy if at all possible, but I would highly recommend Villa Valentina to non-naturists.
