Akrotiria Apartments Review | Akrotiria Apartments Nesebar Golden Sands Sunny Beach Burgas Bulgaria

Akrotiria Apartments

Akrotiria Apartments is a five story apartment complex at Chateau del Marina, located between Spectrum Beach and the naturist area of Golden Sands Nesebar south of the massive holiday resort 'Sunny Beach'. It is about 38km (or about a 35 minute drive) from Burgas Airport. The apartments are on the beach and overlook the sea.

Website: No website but available through various booking websites.

The apartments are built on the beach by a cliff with 3 storeys below cliff-top level and two above. There is parking at the rear. We had a studio apartment (no separate bedroom), which was very small but clean, tidy, and well equipped.

We chose Akrotiria Apartments as it was close to the Golden Sands naturist area at Nesebar (not to be confused with Golden Sands Resort in Varna). However the naturist area is very small, about 50m in length and when we were there, there were as many people looking at naturists as there were naturists. Most of them were men, clothed, and were on their own.

Apart from that, the beach Golden Sands is quite nice, backed by cliffs and dunes and with gently shelving waters the sea was warm, and calm.

Despite being south facing. There was no sun on the balcony due to the overhang of the upper floor. There was also no privacy from the people in the adjacent apartment who did not like naturism and they smoked. For much of the time we were at the apartment, we stayed indoors with the door closed.

Nesebar is the cheaper end of Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach is the worst place imaginable for a naturist holiday. Sunny Beach is about a 5km stretch of hotels, shops, bars restaurants, drugs, prostitution, hawkers, scammers and drunk people and apart from a small pocket of beach nudity (mainly men) on Sunny Beach and similar at Nesebar's Golden Sands, there is nothing there of any appeal. Strangely though, it is packed full of tourists.

We had booked for five nights but we abandoned the place after two nights.
